This polystyrene reference material has been measured with a high-precision FT-IR spectrometer calibrated with a NIST-certified SRM-1921b standard. The material is certified as suitable for verifying the wavenumber scale accuracy of infrared spectrometers by the attenuated total reflectance (ATR) sampling technique. In particular, this material is appropriate for assessing European Pharmacopeia (EP) compliance. The standard consists of a 1” diameter, 0.1” thick optical-grade polystyrene disc bonded to an aluminum sample holder for easy handling.

A printed document that describes the certification procedure is included with the standard. A link to a digital copy of the certificate and the spectral data associated with the standard is also provided. An example of the certificate included with the standard can be found here.

Under proper handling, the material is certified for 18 months from the date printed on the certificate.
